Buildings are the second largest consumers of energy in the U.S. (2024), behind only transportation. They are the largest contributor to greenhouse gas emissions when including electricity end-use indirect emissions (2022). As electric grid loads grow, reducing annual energy consumption, peak demand, and energy costs for buildings and occupants through energy efficiency and load flexibility are key solutions that benefit all stakeholders. SEEA is partnering with regional and national leaders to advance the adoption of high-performance building solutions across the Southeast.
